Brian Pounders - Visual Art
poundersb@rcschools.net

My road to Holloway High School has been serpentine to say the least. After attending Mississippi University for Women (and a few good men), I graduated with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree with emphases in graphic art, painting, drawing, and three-dimensional design. In the following years, I worked as a newspaper layout and ad designer, website designer, in-house promotional designer, and as the visual director at Galeria sin Fronteras in Austin, Texas. With 14 years combined experience in radio and retail music, I was able to indulge my love of music and build a music collection in excess of 4000 CDs. Other job titles that have helped to fund my art career and music habit are radio station programmer, vacuum cleaner salesman, and internal auditor. My artwork has been shown in galleries in Alabama, California, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Texas. I moved to Murfreesboro with my family in 2002. I am grateful for the opportunity to teach Visual Art at Holloway.
